The history of Stephen Allen’s:
In 1969, at the age 10, Stephen Allen was asked to help with the restoration of a 1951 Studebaker Champion 2-door sedan.
His father's car, "Old Spot", was aptly named. You see, "Old Spot" always left a big puddle of oil wherever it was parked. This father-son project would be the beginning of a life-long love of Studebaker cars & trucks.
Stephen Allen's opened it's doors for business in 1992 in Alachua, Florida. The businesses first warehouse was an old tobacco storage facility. Un-insulated, the hot Florida summers would often send employees outside to cool off in the sun.
In 1997, Stephen Allen's moved operations to it's current location in Newberry, Florida. The new insulated warehouses are a far cry from the old tobacco shed. As of June 2005, Stephen Allen's facilities house over 14,000 different Studebaker part numbers.
Stephen personally oversees & participates in Studebaker frame-off restorations.
As for "Old Spot", the 1951 Champion underwent a complete frame-off restoration in 2001 & earned a first place trophy at the 2002 SDC National Meet in South Bend, Indiana.
