XL was now its own series breaking away from the Galaxie. However, it still retained all the features of the Galaxie 500s but with bucket seats, LTD style grille with retractable headlights and the XL badge at the front center of the hood. The standard engine was also the 351 cubic inch V8. This car is fitted with the 390 cubic inch V8 – a $86 upgrade option at the time.
