It’s always great to see an original survivor car that’s got a special story to tell. Still wearing the paint it left the factory with, this 1965 Oldsmobile Cutlass 2dr Sports Coupe has just 5,874 miles on the odometer.
Made in the Lansing, MI plant this Cutlass was sold and then used for just one year then parked up in 1966!
Luckily it stayed in the family right through to the original owner’s Great Great Grandson.
The Lucerne Mist paint is a great choice on the second generation Cutlass.
As you can imagine with such a low mileage car, the original blue cloth and vinyl interior is still looking really great.
Part of the F-85 compact series, the Cutlass was the top trim level of the line-up.
Under the hood sits the high-compression version of the 330 cubic in V8, fitted with a 4-barrel carburetor and offering 315 horsepower – 65hp more than the standard 330. Paired with a Jetaway automatic transmission it would have added a further $260 to the price of the Cutlass when it was ordered new.
Options on this car include power brakes ($45) and power steering ($95).
If you wanted a Cutlass Sports Coupe back in 1965, prices started at $2,643. Oldsmobile managed to sell 26,441 of them that year with a grand total of 85,207 Cutlass cars sold.
This ’65 Oldsmobile Cutlass is currently for sale on eBay. (follow the link for even more photos)
